Greinke to try hand at starting again

Zack Greinke reenters rotation, replacing Odalis Perez.
As a reliever used mostly in middle relief and setup situations, Greinke was in 38 games and had a 3.54 ERA, a 4-1 record and one save. In 53 1/3 innings, he struck out 55 and walked just 15. Opponents batted .226 against him.

"I think you're more valuable to a team as a starter," Greinke said. "So, if you're good, then it's better to be a starter. It's harder to be good as a starter, in my opinion."

John Bale, Ryan Braun, Jimmy Gobble, Joel Peralta, David Riske, Joakim Soria: none of you heard that, understood?

  1. I like the fact that Greinke says he wants to start, that could make all the difference in the world with his history.
However, if given the choice between the two, I think I'd rather see Soria starting next season, with Greinke closing.

  2. agreed with steve.

although ideally they both would start and we would have our rotation set with banny, meche, soria, grienke and davies.

  3. that's a good rotation. Not sure where Nunez fits in, or Hochevar/Lumsden if they ever get ready. Nice to have options at least, though one thing's for sure: Odie's gone.
