Be afraid

Scott Elarton says he's ready and "actually kind of excited that I am pitching against the Yankees." That's good to know, because I'm practicing Lamaze breathing in anticipation of tonight's game.

Here's why.

Hoping to avoid this fate.

Elarton will be opposed by Chien-Ming Wang, the pride of Taiwan.

POSTSCRIPT: Read this SI.com article by John Donovan (via Royal Reflections). C'mon, Brian Sabean disciple Ned Colletti: give up Chin-lung Hu. Your former boss and all his friends would be proud.

  1. I am oddly optimistic about tonight. I see a 20-18 win for the Royals.

  2. You know, strangely enough, I see an Elarton success story brewing. If I had to stake my life on it, I'd say the Royals win 6-4. Maybe 8-6. Elarton goes 5+ and gives up only three runs.

  3. I would take my chances with SE only giving up 5 runs or less. Sadly, I don't see it happening. I think we're going to have to outscore them, Tao.

  4. These are the glories gamblers live for. He says he's stronger, and he's zoned in cause it's the Yanks, and he CAN'T be as bad as he has been... I'm taking my chances!

This conversation didn't happen if he doesn't get through the 2nd.
